Erma Sinclair-Davis is a Los Angeles, California native pursuing her master's in divinity (MDiv) at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas. Erma's ministry focus is at the intersection of trauma-informed liberation and Womanist theology. As an organizer and advocate for spiritual healing, health care access, and communal flourishing, Erma is committed to holding space for Black women's sacred stories and leading life-giving ministries.

My doula helped me prepare for a natural birth by helping me come up with a birth plan, assisting in finding a midwife, holding classes about the process and exercises to help with contractions, walking me through everything step by step, offering ideas about a topic when I had none, helping come up with alternatives to medication, customizing herbal tea blends, doing prenatal yoga and meditation with me, etc. the list goes on. The assistance she provided during my pregnancy was invaluable. She really made the process for me as seamless as possible.

Freya and her team at RootMama proved integral to my wife’s smooth (and natural) delivery. Our doula hosted educational sessions during all three trimesters, helped us with techniques for delivery, and prevented me from losing my mind during delivery. Not to mention how much they helped my wife and son during delivery, with recovery, and home visits. I cannot recommend RootMama enough! ​
